The quiet strength: His power and his calmness makes him a wonderful companion, the perfect dog and ideal for family and children.

He will be a good deterrent as a guard dog because of his big size. He is a  dog with a big heart and devoted to his owners making him easy to train and will obey all orders. He is very easy to train even if he inherited the stubborness of the bulldog.

The Bullmastiff  thinks he is the king of the dogs, as long as nobody try to say the contrary, he can live in perfect harmony in the middle of his court. On the other hand, if someone wants to dethrone him , watch the damage he can do. He has great patience for children. It's a well-balanced mind dog, that's why he is a perfect dog to own and faithful a companion.

If you live in a house with garden, as a  family, and you like to go walking, but also enjoy quietness at home. And you are looking for a good guard dog, who doesn't bark all day long, and you like big dogs, but also want a companion, the Bullmastiff is the dog for you.

The French Bulldog
Adult weigth: between 8 and 14 kg

In spite of his little size the frenchie is a leader, he is bold and brave in his head! He is not at all  a" mummy's boy". He is quick and flash. Very cleverdog who understand everything. His small size means he can live perfectly in flat even though his real pleasure is to leap around in the a garden. Roguish little elf, he is a good patient dog and loves to play with childrens. Less pigheaded than his british cousinthe 'bulldog' he is easier to bring up. If you like the temperament of a mastiff who is bold and brave, but you live in town and are always on the run and looking for a companion who can follow everywhere and who can keep you company at home, the ' pocket mastiff" is the dog you need.

The Staffordshire Bull Terrier
Adult weigth : between 11 and 17 Kg

Small but very strong, with a temprerament that can't deny his membership to the Terrier Group. Lively, intelligent, he is an excellent  game partner for children, he is known as the nanny dog. Very reliable with humans,  you must take care around other dogs because he is quite dominant. If his little size can allow him to live in flat, you must not forget that he needs to unwind and burn off his energy, so you need to take him on long daily walks. You will need to be sporting, and enjoy long walks. Looking for a small dog with  a big personality, a great with children. A dog  that is always happy, then, the staffy is the dog for you.

How to take care of your puppy:Advice

***

Before his arrival:
Your baby will soon arrive! Ready for action!
The arrival of a puppy a very big deal, especially if it is your first dog. You will have to have everything ready for him from now on, so he knows his place in the house. (If you already have a dog, make sure to always feed him, stroke him, congratulate him before your puppy, all of that to avoid any jealousy that could make the cohabitation very hard between your dog and your new puppy). If sofas , beds and some rooms of the house will be forbbiden later on, then you need to tell him from the first day. Put his bed ( only in plastic ( proscribe wicker and textile beds) in a strategic place, far from draughts and from where your puppy will have an easy view on most of the living parts of the house without him having to keep moving to see you. (especially if your puppy is a bulldog!!).
For a start you can  put in his plastic basket a blanket or towel, which is easy to clean! Keep the good big cosy dog bed for later when your puppy will be quiet and clean!
Also get him some toys too. As for an human baby, avoid everything that can be rippes into strips and swallowed.
Buy very hard plastic balls, big ropes, piece of wood . Avoid buffaloskin toys because that can  make him vomit..
Alimentation : Your puppy will leave our kennel with a dry food kit. At the moment he eats Nutrivet Junior 26/16. This food is not easy to find in store but you can order it on the Internet www.nutrivet.fr ,they can deliver at home. In this kit there is also a little bottle of salmon oil ( that you can order too on the website),  this is excellent for the coat. If you choose to take a dry food easier to find near your home, you use the kit to make a transition  in mixing half and half with the new croquettes. Take care to choose a good quality of dry food ( ex:  Royal Canin medium Junior, Eukanuba junior medium breed, Proplan, Hills....). You can  find this dry foods at you vet or in pet shops. At one year old you can give him a dry food for adult. Use stainless steel bowls and always make sure there is fresh water for your baby.

Once at home:
Generaly your puppy will arrive at home at 8 weeks old, he had had his first shot but he will need a second one one month later to be fully inoculated. For this reason we advise you to not take your puppy with you everywhere before the second injection. It is better to invite your friends to come to see him at home but don't put him in contact with other dogs that you don't know if they are vaccinated or not..
Your puppy had been wormed too 8 days before his first shot. You will need to worm him again 8 days before the second shot. For this, you do not need to go with  your puppy to the vet, tentation is big to show your new friend to your vet but the vet office is like an hospital, there is a lot of microbes inside. So , weigth your puppy at home and go alone the vet to buy a vermifuge for X kilos. In the same time take a rendez-vous for the second shot 8 days later.
Your puppy must be wormed every  month until 6 months old and then every 6 months( at  1 year , 1 yaer and half, 2 years ....)
Vaccination has to be done every year.

Tidiness:
Apprenticeship in  tidiness will be your harder job! As soon as your puppy has finished to eat, drink or just wake up, put him outside and congratulate him when he makes it outside. Needless to punish him when he makes it inside, that will only show him that when he makes it inside you have interest for him.. Punish him only if you catch him and give him a good slap on his thigh before to put him outside. At the begining for the night you can  put newspapers on the floor near his bed, he was used to make it on newspaper at the kennel.
If your work in day time ,or if you need to go for several hours, put your puppy in a saft room easy to clean ( kitchen, bath room). You can also buy a baby parc where he will be safte in your absence.

Medical cares:
You can brush your puppy anytimes you like but avoid to wash him too often. Animals are not planed to take daily showers! That can fragilise the skin and can give skin deseases very hard to treat.
You have to clean his ears onces a month with a special lotion. On breed who have falling ears( staffie, bullmastiff, bulldog) a ear scabies can come, watch  that the inside of the ears don't become red. On the bulldog you can clean the wrinkles of the head with physiologic serum and dry them with  talc.

Education:
As with kids, make sure you don't miss it !
You need to be firm but fair. If you annoy, make it really ( fit your force to the size of the puppy!) . He really needs to understand that you are not happy at all. Don't give him little slap with baby language ( it is not nice, your are a nasty boy, mummy is not happy...), Be firm and double your slap with a strong "NO". Dogs hold back easier short orders. The day he will understand the "NO"  no need anymore to give hime slaps. Once he understands who is the chief at home you will have a perfect companion that you will be proud to take with you everywhere.
